[PATCH] Swig 1.3.24 for Subversion 1.1.3

Hey there,

As the Debian maintainer of SWIG it is in my interest to get the current
SWIG package into the distribution. Problem is that subversion 1.1.3 in
Debian does not build with SWIG 1.3.24 because of the now-missing
runtime libraries.

The development branch of subversion 1.2 is patched though so I took
that patch and revised it for 1.1.3. The result is attached. Could
somebody be so kind and take a look if this should be safe? We'd rather
not break subversion in the next Debian release...

Thanks

	Torsten

Indeed - what I meant was:

Should I simply add comments to bugs, or should I email you a list of
commands to review and forward to control@bugs.debian.org ? Or both?

Max.

Good to know it is useful for somebody :)

Sure. First, there could be much more information in each bug report:

- wether it still applies
- if it is an upstream bug
- if more data would be needed
etc.

There are surely some bugs which are already fixed upstream and some
which are packaging related. Driving those apart alone could be quite
helpful.

Greetings

Thanks, this has been on my todo list for quite some time, I just keep not
getting round to it.

Incidentally,

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/pkgreport.cgi?which=src&data=subversion&archive=no

shows quite a lot of bugs filed!

Is there any way I can help slim that down a bit?

Great, thanks!

No idea :) And I am not the maintainer of subversion anyway, I am just
trying to get swig 1.3.24 into sarge. But I guess this patch should go
in then as David (subversion maintainer) just wanted to get more
opinions on it.

Greetings

The proposed backport patch has been committed and nominated.

I'll send another mail to dev@subversion in a moment to prod people into
reviewing and voting.

When would 1.1.4 need to be released by if it is to be included in the next
Debian release?

Max.
