[MATH] Patches ready for improvement of generating random values from
Gamma and Exp
Dear community,
I've made improvements to generating random Gamma and Exp distributed values.
Gamma: A result of a user-need. See
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MATH-585
Exp: It needed some maintenance, too :-). See
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/MATH-597
Both have patch proposals attached.
I haven't committed anything yet; I'll like some of your reviewing
comments first, if possible.
I was thinking of improving some of the other distributions as well,
but haven't got the time to do it, yet. Hopefully it will come at some
point :-).

I have put some comments on MATH-585.
I don't have any comments for MATH-597, it looks good as is to me.

I added a few comments to the tickets. Thanks for taking this on.
I knew adding default inversion-based samplers for everything would
lead to requests for better versions. At first, I wasn't thrilled
about that, but it certainly has attracted some interest and led to
some fun coding. Nothing like code that works, but can be improved
for stimulating OSS activity :)

Or maybe someone will beat you to it. Patches welcome!
