OODT XML Namespace URI
Hey folks:
What is the official XML namespace URI for Apache™ OODT?

+1 to keeping namespace and schemata location totally separate.
+1 to adding ns in the namespace strings.
+1 to never hosting the schemata at the namespace URI.

These aren't schemata, just namespaces. There doesn't need to be anything resolvable by the URI.

I like it.
One thing that we should think about too is how to bake these schemas
into the OODT jar files. I know e.g., in Lucene/Solr there was concern
about referencing a "true" URI b/c it would cause clients all over the world
to pound the Apache website Vhosts, which they didn't want.
Cheers,
Chris

Cool. Yes, I like it.
But I also like having "/ns/" in there to emphasize that these are namespace URLs, not necessarily browse-able.
So...
http://oodt.apache.org/ns/ - OODT Generic NS, "latest" version
http://oodt.apache.org/ns/1.0 - OODT Generic NS, specific version
http://oodt.apache.org/ns/rss - OODT RSS NS, "latest" version
http://oodt.apache.org/ns/rss/1.0 - OODT RSS NS, specific version
http://oodt.apache.org/ns/pge - OODT PGE, "latest" version
http://oodt.apache.org/ns/pge/1.0 - OODT PGE, specific version
etc.
Thinkies?

Hey Guys,
Is this to update the namespaces for the different XML files and config we
have? Right now we have cas in that string. Do we want one overarching
namespace or multiple. I'm fine with either but we could also take the
opportunity to say something along the lines of:
Metadata: http://oodt.apache.org/met/1.0/
RSS Config: http://oodt.apache.org/rss/1.0/ (might be great to update this
to rss-config =D)
PGE Config: http://oodt.apache.orf/pge/1.0/
Etc.
Then they all can evolve separately if need be. Overkill?

That's good, so long as it ends with a / or a # (for string-concatenation joy).
1. http://oodt.apache.org/ns/1.0/
2. http://oodt.apache.org/ns/1.0#
I'm down for either.

Good question -- what do you think? Any proposals?
http://oodt.apache.org/ns/1.0 or something?
Cheers,
Chris
