how to change the window size
i made a window based on the menu bars example, but i cannot change the
window size with either set size or set preferred size from both java code
and bxml code, the window is always around 800x600.
anyway to set the window bigger?

actually that's not good enough, it will first show small window, then resize
to the preferred size.
seems set preferred size for display before open window is better, it won't
show window resize

You can either call Display#getHostWindow() and set the size on that or pass --width and --height command-line arguments to your app.

OK. I find it out by myself :-)
Just set preferred display size before open window.
display.setPreferredSize(1000, 800);
window.open(display);
