Looks like in master the spring version for spring-dm is already extended and a separate spring-dm module is extracted. 

So I think it makes sense to limit the camel-cxf spring version to reflect the camel-spring limitations like you propose in the description. For later camel version we then seem to have a path to work with higher spring versions.
