New logresolve in beta (fwd)

I originally got permission from Tom to include logresolve.c in Apache's
support dir. Since then David Robinsion has rewritten it for Apache.

If anyone is interested in this, help yourself.

(I now use a perl logresolve that keeps a database of successful lookups
so that they can be reused... that doesn't quite tie in with how DNS is
supposed to be cached, but who care when it saves so much effort :-)

Hello!

I'm pleased to announce a new version of logresolve. You're getting
this mail because you contacted me regarding it some time in the past.
This is the only mass-mailing I'm sending out regarding the beta
program. Please let me know if you don't want to be contacted at all in
the future. Isn't it pathetic that there's so much spam out there that
I had to say all that?

Anyways, logresolve 2.0 beta 0 is now available at:
http://www.uunet.ca/~tomr/progs/logresolve/
This initial beta is very stable but lacks features. Please follow the
web pages for further updates. The program is free, as usual.

If you're still using logresolve, please give this new version a try.
Those of you with particularly large log files should love this. It
includes an NDBM-based persistent cache, to further speed up your log
processing. It is bloody fast. I'd appreciate any comments you may
have.

This is a limited public beta - that is, I'm only telling the people
who are getting this mail that the program is there. Feel free to tell
any other users about it. News travels fast, so I expect this will end
up being a fairly wide beta.

Cheers,

Tom
