J CONSORTIUM MAKES REFERENCE SOURCE FOR JEFF GENERATOR AND
DUMPER PUBLICLY AVAILABLE

J Consortium has made publicly available a generator and dumper
for the ISO/IEC 20970 standard, JEFF, a ready-to-execute format
for object-oriented programs and especially for Java programs. It
is the first ISO standard based on Java technology. In order to
include the widest community possible in a public evaluation of
JEFF, the Consortium is providing downloadable versions of both
the source code and binaries at
http://www.j-consortium.org/jeffwg/index.shtml

The generator and dumper are the result of the Consortium's
June 2002 Request for Proposal. After careful evaluation, the
Consortium awarded the contract to Silicomp, a company that has
contributed to the specification of JEFF and has recognized
experience in developing JEFF-based tools. The selected generator
is written in the Java language and uses Java libraries in a
way that makes this generator particularly suited
for on-device embedding.

More information on JEFF is available from the JEFF Working
Group. The JEFF Generator and Dumper sources and binaries,
as well as presentations of JEFF can be freely downloaded
from the group's Web site at
http://www.j-consortium.org/jeffwg/index.shtml.

To purchase the standard specification in electronic format
for $80 or as a hardcopy for $90, visit the ANSI Web site at
http://www.ansi.org/public/std_info.html.

COLDBEANS SOFTWARE ANNOUNCES NEW RELEASE OF COLDTAGS TAGLIB

Coldbeans Software has announced a new release of Coldtags taglib.
This suite provides 110 custom JSP tags for common programming tasks
faced by JSP developers. And now this suite includes custom tags
similar to web controls in .NET framework.

Tags cover the most-often used areas in Web development: database
manipulations, XML/XSL support, featured String manipulations,
conditional evaluation and flow-control, dynamic JSP code
evaluation, dynamic caching of JSP content and WAP/WML support.
