Build failure
cvs update -Pd
./build.sh clean
./build.sh
Result:
BUILD FAILED
/home/noel/jakarta/jakarta-james/build.xml:366: Could not create task of
type: sar due to java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
org/apache/tools/ant/types/AbstractFileSet
Does the ANT in the James CVS need to be updated, too?

There was some talk about moving ant out of the cvs, but I don't know if the
committers want to do that before releasing 2.1.

Yes, if you folks are committed to still using it. When 1.4.1 emerged,
most projects ditched internal Ant instances. 1.4.x and 1.5.x for most
projects are interchangable.

Let me put it to you this way: do you want to update the CVS, or do you want
to rewrite all of the build instructions to tell developers how to download
and install ANT before they can build James, and also make the necessary
changes to the build scripts?
Seems to me that the least effort FOR NOW is to update the CVS. As you
said, it seems prudent to defer until after the release.

I had the same problem. Upgrading to Ant 1.5 resolved
it.
