how to get result of XMLSerializer with no header?

Hi,
I'm using XMLSerializer for converting Document to
String:
    OutputFormat    format  = new OutputFormat( doc );
    StringWriter  stringOut = new StringWriter();
    XMLSerializer    serial = new
XMLSerializer(stringOut,format );
    serial.asDOMSerializer();
    serial.serialize( doc.getDocumentElement() );
    return stringOut.toString();
And I'm getting result with such header <?xml
version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>.
Is some way get result with no header?
