   msgpack 0.9.8 (or one of its dependencies) is built with target 21. The shadowjar we are using does not support that version of the byte code, so some Gradle tasks fail. This might probably also cause errors at runtime when running on JDKs less than 21.
   
   Hence we downgrade msgpack to 0.8.24.
