Does Hadoop participate Google Summer of Code?

Hello,

Does Hadoop participate Google Summer of Code? If it does, who should I talk to?
I have some ideas of using GPU to accelerate HDFS running on low-power mobile
processors. Is anyone interested in this kind of stuff?
