ActiveMQ disk usage

Hi we are using using activemq for our application. But the trouble here is
its size is increasing at an alarming rate(to be specific the Seg0 folder(i
think its used for persistence purpose)).But i am not sure whether to keep
these data in the form of .dat files or to delete them. Can somebody explain
its usage and what to do regarding this.

Best Regards
Sushovan
