[VOTE] Release Hadoop 0.19.0 (candidate 0)

I've created a candidate build for Hadoop 0.19.0.

***Please download and test it before the vote closes on Friday,
October 24.***

http://people.apache.org/~nigel/hadoop-0.19.0-candidate-0/

Should we release this?

The vote passes. I'll publish the release (takes about 24 hours).

I see my mistake. (letting Tom go to bed before I could get the tests
to finish, heh)

They can go in to 0.19.1, of course.

Until then the Serialization stuff is rendered useless, but it seems
I'm practically the only one using it anyway..

thanks for the reply.

Chris, you filed them but didn't mark them blockers for 0.19.0.

Seems like these can these go into 0.19.1. Agreed?

Unable to load custom Serialization implementations. Patch available
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-4467

Unable to use non-WritableComprable keys and non-Writable values when
writing to SequenceFiles. Patch available.
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/HADOOP-4466

Both these prevent the next version of Cascading from being released.

+1. I checked the signatures and the md5. I ran a simple distributed
word count.

Sorry for the delay. I was working with Tom on a unit test failure he
discovered which I have filed as HADOOP-4698 and created a patch. I'm
going to give my +1 to release this and fix HADOOP-4698 in 0.19.1.

+1 from me for 0.19.0 RC1.

Tom, others? I need at least 1 more PMC vote.

Thanks,

Looks like this is now https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/
HADOOP-4659. Can it be fixed in 0.19.1?

I've just re-opened defect HADOOP-3844, and would propose that patch
gets rolled back or a replacement I'm about to write goes in instead.
rollback is easiest.

I've created a 2nd candidate build for Hadoop 0.19.0.

Should we release this?

-1. I think we need to fix at least HADOOP-4517 and I think I'll roll
a 0.18.2 first.
