[jira] [Commented] (JDO-750) Change development environment to JDK 1.8

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/JDO-750?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=15102142#comment-15102142 ]

Craig L Russell commented on JDO-750:
-------------------------------------

Considering the additional query features of jdo-next (whatever we call it: 3.2 or 4.0) and the requirement for new time types:

I'd propose users who need java7 to continue to use 3.1. Anyone who wants the new features will need to move to java 8.

> The idea is that we continue to support JDK 1.7 runtime, but the development requires JDK 1.8.
