Trying Moonshine 2.0

Hi,

I'm going to use this thread to try to solve the things I find in my way.

First one, I'm trying to setup ANT. I have installed in my Mac via
Homebrew. The path is not shown in file browser dialog (when I click
"Change" in ANT Build setup). So I was expecting to have some way to enter
the home brew file path to reach to ANT installation (in my case it starts
with "/usr/local/Cellar")
In some apps there's a Mac menubar with "Go to folder", so this kind of
hidden resources are accesible
how can I get to this in Moonshine?
thanks

If you install manually, is normal you install in some folder you control,
but since home-brew install, updates and uninstalls from command line, and
"manages" all under the hood, is normal that is located in a hidden folder

thanks

How other IDE are working? I will check. If they have similar approach we
may not bother stuff which is hidden.

However your idea with having ability to write path manually is also an
option.

I'm surprised - why those folders are hidden ?! It's pretty weird to me,
but I'm mostly Windows user, so maybe it is common thing that on Mac some
auto installed stuff is hidden.

Thanks for your input. I will raise issue tomorrow and discuss it widely.

Re: Trying Moonshine 2.0

Posted by Carlos Rovira <ca...@apache.org>.
Hi Piotr,

in Mac is normal that you can access hidden files so I think the way to
solve it is to just add "Go To Folder" in the Mac menu, since I think is
what others apps do.
In that way you get a text input to enter the path, and pushing the button
in that dialog opens the browser dialog in that folder.
Other option is : All screens in moonshine that ask for file paths be able
to enter a file path instead of only go to the file browser.

I think the option of install a new ant is not a good solution since a user
should not need to have another ant installation (and the same for other
tools).

thanks!

Carlos

I don't know then, but I will pass that problem to others so we investigate
stuff installed by *home brew - *it is weird that you cannot point there.
Alternative option is to go to Getting Started (menu Help -> Getting

HI Piotr,
yes. know that. I'm on that screen :)
my problem is that clicking "Change", opens a finder file browser dialog,
and there I can't access /usr/local/Cellar/ path

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for trying it! If you would like to use your existing setup of ANT
you have to set path in menut File -> Settings -> Ant Build Setup
