RFE: Permit that "apply" parameter "output" can be set to "targetfile"

Summary: RFE: Permit that "apply" parameter "output" can be set
                    to "targetfile"
           Product: Ant
           Version: 1.5.1
          Platform: Other
               URL: http://www.mail-archive.com/ant-
                    user@jakarta.apache.org/msg20940.html
        OS/Version: Other
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Enhancement
          Priority: Other
         Component: Core tasks
        AssignedTo: ant-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: hauser@acm.org

this would make the [not-so-portable] inhouse-tool
(http://www.mail-archive.com/ant-user@jakarta.apache.org/msg06235.html) obsolete.
Such batch script circumvents the missing stdout redirection in ant or the
missing option required to specify an ouputfile e.g. in gnu m4.
