[jira] Created: (QPID-150) get qpid-run or equivalent working within an svn working copy

get qpid-run or equivalent working within an svn working copy
-------------------------------------------------------------

                 Key: QPID-150
                 URL: http://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/QPID-150
             Project: Qpid

    Affects Versions: M2
            Reporter: Stephen Vinoski
         Assigned To: Stephen Vinoski
            Priority: Minor

It would be nice to be able to run the broker within your svn working copy, using the qpid-run script or something equivalent to it.

We could

1. Write a new script to be used within your svn working copy, perhaps boiling the common parts of it and the qpid-run script into a separate file that each of them source so as to prevent scripting duplication.

2. Augment qpid-run so that it can also run within the svn working copy.

For users, IMO the first approach would be cleaner.

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Everybody hated maven so much that we chucked it for ant.

Hurrah!

It's now possible to use the assembly:directory goal under the distribution directory to create an installed directory. Instructions for doing so are here:

http://cwiki.apache.org/qpid/qpid-java-build-how-to.html

I'm not closing this issue yet, though, as I think it would also be nice to add a maven plugin to support running the broker directly.
