Warning: breaking cvs

Hi All,

I am going to break cvs. It will NOT work at all. You will not get any
useful output. This will be the case for some time.

For any changes to the current code a cvs branch will be used.
The maintainence branch has the tag:
fop-0_20_2-maintain

The main changes are that the area tree and renderers have been changed.
The renderers are missing most of their code. This will be readded as
appropriate in an attempt to make the renderers cleaner and simpler.
The area tree is only minimal so far, the idea is to have a minimal area
tree that has limited overhead and is simple to render. The idea is to
build the area tree to accomodate all the rendering possibilities while
keeping it simple and small.

>From this hopefully we will have a good idea on what and how to build the
area tree from the layout.

Keiron.

There probably won't be any large changes for a while. I am going to work
on getting the area tree operation and lokk at setting up the pdf renderer.
I will try to make it so that the xml renderer produces xml that can be
read in for testing (tools.AreaTreeBuilder) and use this to test the
renderers. This way I can get the area tree and renderers working
independantly from the layout.

So the question is can the area tree handle what you need from it (once
fully implemented), eg. markers.

Flash and JGenerator

Posted by Alex McLintock <al...@yahoo.com>.
Hi folks,

I noticed recently that the Flash Generator program JGenerator has "FOP support".

I am looking into doing some training courses using Flash and being able to do
PDF output of the training "slides" would be good.

Anybody here tried this out?

Cheers

Alex

Keiron,

If it would help, after you've roughed out most of the PDF renderer, my
group (Andy and I) would be willing to take some time to help fill in the awt
and/or print renderers, following the pattern you establish. I'm following
the dialogs here, but have been mostly silent lately, do feel free to wake
me up when and if you wish.

Excellent! :-)

When the dust has settled somewhat let us know. I have a few cycles and want
to get back into it ASAP.
