   @seberg we are normally planning to do a next major release in January as well. We could try to do an RC first week of January after the holidays, and then a release by mid January could be realistic. So if there would not be much difference in timing, that would possibly avoid the need to do a shorter-term bugfix release on the pyarrow side.
