spamd doesn't work any more..

Hello, all.

I have operated spamassassin at my mail server.
And sometimes, the spamd process seen, but doesn't work any more.
So it only works after I restart spamd daemon.

My system environment is...

SpamAssassin version 3.0.2
redhat 9.0
kernel 2.4.30
sendmail 8.12.8-9.90
perl-5.8.0-88.3

at that time, my logs like below...

Apr 22 11:52:42 mailserver spamc[4637]: connect(AF_INET) to spamd at
127.0.0.1 failed, retrying (#1 of 3): Connection timed out
Apr 22 11:53:11 mailserver spamc[4782]: connect(AF_INET) to spamd at
127.0.0.1 failed, retrying (#1 of 3): Connection timed out
Apr 22 11:53:25 mailserver spamc[4606]: connect(AF_INET) to spamd at
127.0.0.1 failed, retrying (#2 of 3): Connection timed out

Is this a bug or some problem?

Thanks in advance.

Was it running? What does the spamd log say? What are the system specs
(cpu, mem, etc)? How many mails were being scanned at that time?
Many things can cause this issue. We need more info as to what is the
issue at hand.
