[I] ATS couldn't find legacy libpcre on modern distros [trafficserver]
ksqrtr opened a new issue, #12442:

Hi!
I seems like new Debian 13 ("trixie") doesn't ship any more legacy libpcre (`pcre.h` header) but a lot of code in the ATS explicitly links with this legacy PCRE library.

@ksqrtr ATS 10.2.0 will completely switch to PCRE2. All the work has been completed, yesterday, and we are planning on doing a release in Q1 2026.
Details:
The changes are on master. Our master branch is our development branch and will be the next 10.2.0 release. We will create the 10.2.x branch off of master in January.

There is a similar issue on RHEL10. We are working to remove this dependency from ATS, but are not quite there yet.

We are also on Debian 13 Trixie. I ran into this today, I eventually found out the reason by arriving at this issue thread. I ended up installing from the master branch, but is the 10.2.0 release going to be cut soon?
