> Ducc_ling must not do anything at all before switching IDs.  Somehow the code that creates the log dir hierarchy slid up before the ID switch.  Both the OR and the CLI try to write to the logdir but the OR has to use ducc_ling.  On fast systems (with local disk vs NFS), the OR can easily win the race and the logdir is written with incorrect ownership.  CLI then tries to write the properties file and gets an invalid permissions error.
