[jira] [Commented] (CB-4608) Command line build tool always override platform's in config.xml even though there is no specific entry in global's /www/config.xml

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-4608?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=13777969#comment-13777969 ]

Jeffrey Heifetz commented on CB-4608:
-------------------------------------

I would guess that this is related to the way defaults were handled and that the platform was being overwritten by CLIs preference default tags.

Ultimately they end their issue with the following quote " It [<platform>/<project>/config.xml] should not get affected by CLI build, though" which is now inherently false since the platform config.xml is now considered a build artifact.

Rather than fixed, I almost feel as though its invalid, but perhaps we should wait for the reporter's feedback.

> Quick fix to this is just by adding <preference> tag into global's /www/config.xml . However, in the document, it is not stated as supported tag for all platforms and platform-specific document suggest editing <platform>/<project>/config.xml directly. It should not get affected by CLI build, though, if not all functions (especially 3rd party plugin addition) still cannot not supported by CLI.
