[jira] Created: (WW-2652) Live Confluence snippets and html
exported docs are using different sources
Live Confluence snippets and html exported docs are using different sources
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: WW-2652
URL: https://issues.apache.org/struts/browse/WW-2652
Project: Struts 2
Issue Type: Bug
Affects Versions: 2.1.2, 2.0.11.1
Reporter: Matthieu Chase Heimer
Priority: Minor
http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/WW/Workflow+Interceptor
is different than
http://cwiki.apache.org/WW/workflow-interceptor.html & http://struts.apache.org/2.x/docs/workflow-interceptor.html
Additionally the guide at http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/WW/Documentation+Style+Guide#DocumentationStyleGuide-Singlesourcingwithsnippets says that when a snippet url lacks a http prefix that https://opensymphony.dev.java.net/source/browse/*checkout*/_ . This doesn't seem to be the case as far as I can tell.
So the question is what URL is being used when viewing the live Confluence pages and what is being used when the wiki is exported to html?

[jira] Updated: (WW-2652) Confluence pages are not exported to html
when content changes

Matthieu Chase Heimer updated WW-2652:
--------------------------------------
Component/s: Documentation
Priority: Major (was: Minor)
Summary: Confluence pages are not exported to html when content changes (was: Live Confluence snippets and html exported docs are using different sources)
After playing with this a little it looks like what is happening is that a html export of a page only occurs when a page is saved. The problem is that with many of the page's content being based on SVN snippets the content can change at anytime. You actually have to make a change to a wiki page and save it to get it exported with the updated snippet content. Confluence detects if you haven't made any changes to the non-snippet content and won't do anything if you just open a page and press save.
This means to keep the docs current you must periodically open every single page, make a change just to force an update, save, undo the change, save again.
And because there is no way to know what pages a snippet appears on or which snippets have changed this must be done on every page with a snippet on a regular basis.

Resolution: Not A Problem
Yep, this is an open feature request for the autoexport plugin - timed exports.
