Hi [~ChrisSandison]
Will you be submitting a PR for this?  I'm reviewing another one (https://github.com/apache/drill/pull/258) which implements a lot of GIS functionality.   I'm hoping to get these into v 1.12 and if you can get this submitted, I'd be happy to review it.
