[I] Allow KIE Tools build to run in parallel, removing `--workspace-concurrency=1` from the CI [incubator-kie-tools]
tiagobento opened a new issue, #3810:
URL: https://github.com/apache/incubator-kie-tools/issues/3810
Right now, KIE Tools builds run sequentially, to avoid running out of memory and other concurrency problems, related to two Maven packages building in parallel. This means that we're effectively missing out on resources available to us. Concurrent builds are essential to scaling a project size, so a first step would be identifying what is preventing us from removing the sequentiality of our build.
After that, we need to plan what changes need to be done to the build scripts to actually leverage concurrency. Keeping in mind that some "sub tasks" of the build will already try to use multiple cores, which might conflict with the concurrency of the build itself. Parallelism can actually slow down the build if over-used, as switching process contexts is an expensive operation for the OS to do. Lots to research, but we can use this task to start the discussions about it.
