2.0.6 had some bugs that might cause problems with the build.
Since its sooo old now (internet years!), I could the build
requirements to 2.0.8 which had most of the problems fixed.
I will wait for 24h just incase anyone cant run that version, and is
building fine.
mvn --version will tell you which version you are using, AFAIK the
10.5 bundled version is a standard mvn and has not been patched, on
other OSS projects, I have seen similar problems with 10.5 users.

Are we talking tiger or leopard here? On my MBP and iMac (both standard mvn

This happened with me also..but eventually found out it was because of mvn
version(2.0.6) which comes with mac.Upgrade your maven to 2.0.9 and
everything should be fine
