Host Manager Persistent (bug 48674)

Would whoever is in charge of the host manager app like some assistance
with this one? If not, that's fine, I just thought I'd offer if they're

No one person is in charge of the host manager app. Committers do have
areas of interest but even then that doesn't mean that they are in
charge of a particular area. Anyone is free to work on any area.
Patches for open bugs are always welcome.
You might want to look at the storeconfig module from 5.5.x although
that a) had its issues and b) is probably over the top for this case.
