[jira] [Created] (BROOKLYN-50) "First Contact" improvements

Richard Downer created BROOKLYN-50:
--------------------------------------

             Summary: "First Contact" improvements
                 Key: BROOKLYN-50
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/BROOKLYN-50
             Project: Brooklyn
          Issue Type: Story
    Affects Versions: 0.7.0-M1
            Reporter: Richard Downer
             Fix For: 0.7.0

A new user's "first contact" with the Brooklyn software is not as easy as it perhaps could be. While the "getting started" section of the website has step-by-step instructions, if the user is wanting to use a different configuration (such as running Brooklyn on a server instead of on their desktop), the default configuration of Brooklyn works against them and the getting started guides are unhelpful.

This story acts as a container for tasks that can be taken to improve Brooklyn's impression for a wider range of first time uses.
