[jira] [Commented] (CAMEL-20120) Add showRouteId and ShowRouteGroup to the Log component

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-20120?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=17787235#comment-17787235 ]

Claus Ibsen commented on CAMEL-20120:
-------------------------------------

You can start by adding routeGroup to the simple language (it already have route id)
https://camel.apache.org/components/4.0.x/languages/simple-language.html#_variables

That is easier to learn how to do, before doing something to the log component.

> Key: CAMEL-20120
> URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CAMEL-20120
> Project: Camel
> Issue Type: Improvement
> Components: camel-log
> Affects Versions: 4.2.0
> Reporter: Raymond
> Priority: Minor
>
> In the log component users are enable to enable all kinds of information like headers and exception:
> As a user, I would like to see the routeId and routeGroup in the log. Rationale is to better filter these logs in for example Elastic or Splunk and easier to recognize when checking the terminal. This option can be similar to the option showExchangeId{*}.{*}
> The following options can be added:
>  *showRouteId*                Show the routeID if available         default=false  boolean
>  *showRouteGroup*         Show the routeGroup if available  default=false  boolean
