Column family name length limit

I have been looking.  Does anyone know what, if any, is the limit on column
family names?

Thanks Josh,

A 1M limit will be easy to observe.  I was worried about hitting the wall
at 128 or something like that.

It's generally recommended (and enforced by default in 1.6.0) to keep 
the complete Key size under 1MB.

There are no hard defined mechanisms for limiting the length of the column
family.
