updating the public forrest web site
Do we have a document equivalent to this?

That shows how to publish changes made in site-author to the public
facing web site? I assume any committer can do it?

I think it is. Atleast I followed it to the word and it worked for me
(great job, David!). The first time I tried though, I ran into some
svn related issues (don't remember the exact error I got). But its
been fine since.

I gather that these warnings are because these are changed
files that are being re-added to svn. Forrestbot could be
smarter there, but it works.
I cannot explain why your machine has the *.png changes,
but i have seen such issues at ASF Infrastructure where
there are a few different people publishing the site.
Anyway, that is not today's problem.

I have never seen that in my 'forrestbot deploy'
and i don't see it today either. Nor this next error.
All that is can suggest is that you remove site-author/build/
and site-author/work/ and try again.

Yeah it's the deploy stage. I did the build stage and it worked.

I just removed my site-author/build to get rid of
forrestbot's work area and am in the process
of trying again. Will report back.
Please give some context about your error.
I presume this is the 'deploy' stage.

Can you do a normal checkout of
https://...forrest/site ?
You will need that anyway for the occasions where
you don't want to use the forrestbot.

Any ideas? I followed the "automated" instructions. I didn't try the
manual process you described in the linked email yet.

I must have been reading its output incorrectly.
The local forrestbot has been performing just fine for me.

The general instructions are the similar, except we don't
have a server-side installation where occasional people

That uses the forrestbot to do it. I have been seeing a problem
recently whereby it only commits new files, not changed ones,
unless i remove the build directory and get forrestbot to
start afresh. So i have resorted to the manual method,
which i actually like because one can see the changes.
