reg:hook pogram and its functionality

Dear all,
I'm eager in getting to know the functionality of hook program.
Whether it can able to access the DB?.
Whether we can use this program for authentication?...
I eagerly waiting for your reply...

Thanx and regards,
Rajini.

Hmmm. Rajini, pardon my directness, but I think this is best said
earlier than later:

Please don't use this list to ask questions that you could answer
yourself with a little research. When you do so, you are wasting the
time of hundreds of people; also, you raise the noise level -- making
it more likely that we'll miss some other question that isn't answered
in Subversion's documentation, and that really does deserve to be
answered on this list.

The hook templates distributed with Subversion already explain how you
can use the `svnlook' program to access the DB. If you had read the
hook templates, or the book documentation (see Chapter 5), you would
know this. Even if you had read the docs but weren't sure what they
meant, a few simple experiments would have quickly taught you what you
need to know.

This mailing list is the place to ask questions *after* you have done
your own homework. We didn't write all that documentation only to
have people ignore it. Please use it, instead of treating this
mailing list as your own personal research assistant.

Thank you,
-Karl
