[GitHub] [trafficserver] cmcfarlen opened a new pull request, #10392: Fix bug with reverse dns lookup from hosts files
cmcfarlen opened a new pull request, #10392:
URL: https://github.com/apache/trafficserver/pull/10392
Include autest to verify fix.
When a parent config exists, and a request URL with an IP address host comes in, a reverse DNS lookup is done to try to match that host against the parent config. A while back, I added a feature to try to use the hosts file for this lookup before doing DNS requests. While this lookup succeeded, it passed the wrong value to `lookup_done` which incorrectly marked the record as a failed lookup. While this didn't affect the initial request (it just skips parent lookup), subsequent requests with the hostname in the host would be immediately failed as "Host not found".
This PR fixes that bug and includes an autest to check for future regressions.
