Unable to launch ServiceMix in windows with Java 1.6

When I tried launching ServiceMix 3.3 from servicemix.bat, I get the
following error:
\Java\jdk1.6.0_18 was unexpected at this time.

Any help here would be appreciated. I really don't want to install an
earlier version of Java, say 1.5, if that is the problem.
