Download auto detection for OS X

The download page, http://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html , is not properly recognizing
my Operating system Mac OS X ver. 10.10 (Yosemite).

It shows OS X 32-bit (x86) (DMG) instead of OS X 64-bit (x86-64) (DMG)
AOO

And says "Problem: Apache OpenOffice 4.1.1 is not available for OS X 32-bit (x86) (DMG).
Solution: Please select version 4.0.1."

I just answered a post on the users mailing list about this problem. I have seen other similar
posts.

The detection used to work for OS X 64 bit .

I'm not working on a Mac and so need more details. Please can you use
the analysis webpage [1] and send the data in the table as reply to this
mail.

ahm, with "use the analysis webpage" I meant to do what is written on
the page and then paste the data. ;-)

Can you please do this? Then I have a better chance to see where the
scripting is wrong.

Thanks again

Thanks Larry, for providing data and testing. The problem is now fixed.

PS:
I also added support for the (somewhen) upcoming "El Capitan" release
10.11. I'm pretty sure our users will tell us if it's not working. ;-)

Thank you Marcus. Now I won't have to explain to people how to use the drop down menu in order
to select a different OS.

for the moment the problem with the Safari browser should be fixed.
However, it would be interesting to see if the problem is still
occurring with Opera and Chrome.

thanks for the new data. Here I can see a difference with showing the
version number of the used system the browser is running on.

Safari:
navigator.userAgent Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_4)
AppleWebKit/600.7.12 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/8.0.7 Safari/600.7.12

Firefox:
navigator.userAgent Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10_10_4)
AppleWebKit/600.7.12 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/8.0.7 Safari/600.7.12

The point is how the version number of the Mac OS X version number is
written. 10_04 is interpreted as the old 10.4 system which is correctly
no longer supportby the newer AOO releases. However, it is not
recognoized as 10_10_4. That's what I will change.

As you told us that Opera and Chrome should the same error, can you
please check what the analyze webpage is showing you as user agent data?
Maybe there is a third way to show the version number that needs to be
incorporated in the fix.

Thanks again

Marcus

I did some further checking using other browsers. Opera and Chrome also open with OS X 32-bit
(x86) (DMG).
Firefox, however, correctly opens with OS X 64-bit (x86-64) (DMG)

Here is the analyze code from Firefox, in case that is useful.
