The button "ask a question" is the same as "I would like to become moderator".
That is true. The text has changed, in previous version this tooltip was "I would like to ask a question" and not "I would like to become moderator".

What should happen if you have an additional button "I would like to ask a question" ? The moderator either shall grant you moderation or access to audio/video. And this is what it is now.

Not for a poll. In a conference, if anyone has a question without the chat.

In room admin, i have this checkbox: " Allow user questions". Its for the chat?

If you need to start a poll, you need modrator permissions. A chat is
open for all.
