[jira] Created: (AXIS2-2015) NoClassDefFoundError when creating
JAXBContext
NoClassDefFoundError when creating JAXBContext
----------------------------------------------
Key: AXIS2-2015
URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS2-2015
Project: Apache Axis 2.0 (Axis2)
Issue Type: Bug
Components: jaxws
Reporter: Nikhil Thaker
Attachments: JIRA_2015_NoClassDefFound.txt
Creating of JAXBContext is failing with a NoClassDefFoundError when trying to create context with list of classes. We are tying to absorb the exception when we load a class that will be used to create a JAXBContext, however if the class definition is not found the ClassLoader throws NoClassDefFoundError. We are trying to absorb everything that extends Exception and since NoClassDefFound is not a sub class of Exception the program fails fatally. I am changing the code to catch Throwable at all the places in Jaxws code where we try to load the class using Class.forName() method, this will ensure that we do not fail fatally and absorb all the exceptions when we need to absorb them.
