[jira] [Commented] (WHIMSY-28) additional establish resolution cross checks

    [ https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WHIMSY-28?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=14970997#comment-14970997 ]

Shane Curcuru commented on WHIMSY-28:
-------------------------------------

- Common Resolution checker. We use known boilerplates for many common resolutions, so if we have enough text detection code, we could flag most common resolutions that are missing paragraphs or are using the wrong format. (There's gotta be a way to detect how many paras, what the starting phrase for each para is, <then the text that varies by project>, then the closing phrase for each para should be).

- <private> section badge. Displays a badge or other indicator if any specific report section has a private section.

- Incubator report checker for missing podling reports (See also/instead https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/WHIMSY-26)

- Link checker: display a badge or comment in the UI if any links in a report are not valid or are using any non-s.apache.org shorteners.

> At the moment, the whimsy/asf lib that the board agenda tool uses only checks for the validity of names and indentation. We have had problems with other areas (podling resoutions not discharging the Incubator; differences in scope). Are there other validity checks that could be made?
