[FYI] wild!

 http://structuredtext.sourceforge.net/spec/reStructuredText.txt

anybody wants to write a 'StructureTextGenerator' :)

For sure will help getting new documentation faster :)

I am hoping that these different Parsers can be used within a new
RequestParser, I am planning. It could be a Generator, or extensions to the
Request TagLib.

The idea would be to generate XML from the Request, optionally applying
different Parser Components to different Form Fields.

Structured Text Parsers
XML Parsers
'Tidy' XML/HTML Parsers (clean up mal-formed XML ?)
etc.

The key issue for me is that the output of the Parsers would have to
buffered, so that partially parsed XML was never sent downstream.

As I understand it .... a Transformer could not do this job, because XML in
form fields would already have '<, >, &' encoded as entities by the
RequestGenerator.

Now already exist many standards of "structured text", see the
APTConvert (http://www.xmlmind.com/aptconvert.html) & some other. This
look like XML-files, which are different by inline structure and tag
sets.
Better idea to create XSLT transformer for text and describe
XPath-like syntax for searching text sequences in file. My txtXSL file will be
work with my text format, so i can use ANY format of structured
text which i want.

I can't fight in this battle. But i give the ideas... may be anybody
try to realize same dreams? Wait for docs & releases... is glad to
test anything...

The wiki grammar that Stephan wrote for his chaperon parser is based on
a simple example that I wrote on the PHPwiki demo site, based on their
TextFormattingRules
(http://phpwiki.sourceforge.net/phpwiki/TextFormattingRules).

One problem that I see with the reStructuredText spec (and also, but
less so I think, with TextFormattingRules) is the use of indentation
for markup, which is IMHO too easy to lose when working with HTML forms.

On the other hand, reStructuredText looks more complete and more
strictly defined than TextFormattingRules
Maybe we could add an "alternate indentation" mechanism ("++" at the
start of lines for example) to it?

I think the keyword here is "Wiki-like capability" - being able to edit
rich text content easily in a standard browser. Structured text is
killer for this today IMHO, until really usable (and "zero-install")
XML editors are available.

Having full wiki capabilities (ability to create/link new content
pages, versioning etc.) would sure be nice too, but the starting point
is certainly a StructuredTextGenerator, which chaperon is able to
implement today AFAIK.

You have ask me for examples for the chaperon project. Together
with Bertrand Delacretaz I wrote a little wiki example, which
looks very similar to me.

Perhaps the table could be difficult to parse.

The link

was very intressting for me. I found this link in a mail from a
disappointed user in the cocoon-users list.

I didn't know that wiki and co. are so important for companies.

Perhaps I should force the work on this example :-S
