error: no repository found

Hello,

I was recently introduced into the subversion world about three weeks
ago. Anyway our group is ready to implement a subversion repository and
I'm stuck.

The path to my repository is
svn://149.8.166.98:8080/svn_repository/VFS_DATA (this server lives in a
DMZ). I am getting the Error: No repository found in
'svn://149.8.166.98:8080/svn_repository/VFS_DATA'

I have five sub folders that I added via the repo-browser and the
vfs_data is a repository. Can you please help me figure out why I can't
svn-checkout this repository?

Thanks so much!!
