[jira] Updated: (MPMD-63) Maven2 PMD Plugin should try to use the maven-compiler-plugin source level information

Xavier Le Vourch updated MPMD-63:
---------------------------------

    Attachment: MPMD-63.patch

I've attached a patch for this. It's inspired by the configuration parsing code from the maven-ant-profile but is more specific just to get the "source" tag in the compiler settings.

If targetJdk is explicitly defined, it will be used, otherwise it will get the compiler version if defined and default to the PMD default value if nothing is explicitly defined.

> This plugin should retrieve the source level information from the maven-compiler plugin. In fact, this is a pity we've got to specify source level at different places (also for checkstyle, ...).
> More generally, this information should be retrievable and used by any plugin. MPMD could still offer a way to override the settings, but it should not crash while parsing Java5 code since the code level has already been specified...
