CocoonFromServlet documentation...and Cocoon with NES

In the Cocoon FAQs I find:
> Q: How do I pipe my servlet output into Cocoon?
> A: Simple answer: you don't!!!

Anyway, the "cocoon-1.7.4/samples/fromServlet" directory contains
three sample classes that I'm successfully using to test servlets
with Cocoon. That's very close to piping servlet output into Cocoon.

Is using the approach sketched by CocoonFromServlet OK, or is it
somehow "deprecated"?

That class contains a comment that's not very clear to me:

> // Pass in the real response object. If I wanted to
> // filter the output further, I could easily construct
> // a CocoonServletResponse object and pass that in,
> // and pull the output out of it.
> cocoonEngine.handle(myReq, res);

Did anybody use the CocoonServletResponse? Can somebody describe a
possible usage for this further processing?
I couldn't find any reference to CocoonFromServlet
in the Cocoon documentation, but I read some messages about it in the
mailing list. I think it could be useful to describe that approach
in some detail in the documentation.

BTW, I am running Cocoon in a SW configuration that is not listed in
the docs:

Operating System :	Windows NT 4.0
Web Server : Nescape Enterpirse Server 3.6.1
Servlet Engine :	JRun 2.3.3
JVM :			Sun JDK 1.2.2

When debugging I use
JVM : MS jview Version 5.00.3155
from visualJ++

	Ciao
