3.0 M4 artifacts

Sorry if I missed them, but have 3.0 M4 artifacts been generated or has the
tag just been created? If not, I could probably generate them while
reviewing Andrey's patches this weekend. If so, I'd just assume save myself
the work :-)

Thanks,
Kevin

I think it would be useful to build an assembly by Hudson, but for the
reasons mentioned in this thread, it can only be a cross-platform
assembly.

Absolutely right.

No. It requires Windows environment.

I believe that creating CayenneModeler.app (for OS X) is fine on any
platform, but creating the disk image (.dmg) for OS X needs to be done
on OS X. Under the assembly directory is a build-mac.sh which does it
(using the hdiutil command).

Can the Windows CayenneModeler.exe be produced on Solaris?

Would it be useful if I have Hudson build the assemblies? Then we'd
have 'nightlies' which are identical in composition to the releases.
Will it be able to build the Mac assembly on a Solaris machine? (I
seem to remember that the dmg creation needs OSX specific tools.)

Oops, wait... Still need to export the wikidocs. I'll send an email
when this is done.

Yes, absolutely. As Ari said, Andrey's changes should go on trunk, so
that's not affecting M4. I am still finishing some internal testing,
but I think we are good to go with the assemblies. So Kevin you can go
ahead with signed assemblies creation.

Thanks for the info. Are we actually taking the Hudson builds as the
released artifacts? If not, we still need to build them and test them to
ensure that what we make publicly available as a final released version is
of high quality.

Note that testing here doesn't necessarily mean unit testing. I know
personally in the past I've botched the Modeler builds for Linux and
fortunately someone caught it in testing.

Just the tag. Andrey's patches are going into trunk now and not M4.
Also, there is less of a need now to create snapshots for people to
test since Hudson effectively creates a snapshot for every commit (or
group of commits within a certain timeframe).
