showRootNode in tree working?

I am trying to hide the root node in the tree and
start the display of the tree with the children of
"root"

I tried setting the showRootNode property in my tree,
and that does not appear to have any effect.

Has anyone been able to use the tree without a root
node?

Thanks for any guidance.
Phillip

I've been trying to do this as well. Is this something we won't see
until Tapestry 3.1?
