not able to start geronimo in background

I am using "start-server -b " to run geronimo in background but its still
running in foreground and using one terminal. If we close this terminal
geronimo will also get stop. Did anybody experienced this issue earlier. pls
reply.

I am using 2.1.6 and server is running after using 'start-server -b'  but not
getting stop it will run continuously. But why its not running in
background.

Using Geronimo 2.1.4 I get a similar issue.
Call 'start-server -b' in a command window. The server starts and then stops
