Schema Imports

I've been using apache directory server for a few weeks and am impressed.
I'm using it in a proof-of-concept, integrating it with IBM Tivoli
Identity Manager via IBM Tivoli Directory Integrator.

I have a question about the schema. From what I can tell your schema
definitions are all in the schema files located in src/main/schema. Is it
possible to import a schema definition into a running server or do I have
to modify these schema files and rebuild the server to make changes?

If the second case is true, is it planned in the future to add
functionality to enable the first?

Please include my email address in the reply since I have not subscribed

Hi,

This may not be what you're really looking for but here is something:

https://svn.safehaus.org/repos/sandbox/apachecon-m2/schema/

This is about embedding ApacheDS. Unfortunately, we do not have dynamic
schema yet but it's on the way. And I'm not sure if you can extend the
schema of a installed instance while it is offline.

Cheers,

Hi thad !

unfortunatly, we don't have dynamic schemas atm. This is something we
have to add, and it's in the roadmap for 1.1 version.

May be Alex can add a comment about it, he has a better vision on ADS
evolution for the next months.

Emmanuel.
