Reyes find & replace not working

^$ to find line break between lines (after checking regular expressions box) results in not found error message. OS Windows 8.1.

^$ finds empty paragraphs.
Use \n to find manual line breaks.

Remember, unless a hard line break is added to text, there are no line breaks in the paragraphs of text, even though they are reflowed across multiple lines.  The reflow into lines is not by line breaks, it is only in the layout.  The regular expression doesn't see those, methinks.

Could that be the problem?
