Cocoon2.0a1 starts to take shape

Ok people,

I've played all afternoon with it and I'm happy. The sitemap needs to be
rewritten, a couple of issues with ServletContext istances handling
around, but we are heading the right path.

I filled the todo.xml with ideas on things to do.

So, since many of you asked how to contribute, look there and work it
out or propose something.

Anyway, should we make an alpha distribution?

I slowly start implementing the stable part of the sitemap draft. I've
seen there are some DOM/SAX 1 backward compatability stuff in there. As
we have committed to Xerces 1.1.1 (which has deprecated DOM/SAX 1) I
will remove those things.

If the sitemap implementation isn't implemented per the last sitemap
discussion,
I would also have to say -1. I don't see any point in releasing an alpha
version
of something that we've already decided isn't how it is going to be
implemented.
At least basic sitemap functionality as we've decided upon seems like a
critical
part of any release we might make. Once this is achieved, I'm all for it.

It's important to release early and often, but it's also important to
release
responsibly, and I think a release at this time would be detrimental to the
cause.

Nice work.

-1
I think it's still too early.
