[~stack] [~ndimiduk], do you guys think this could also be backported to 2.x? The comment says it has been deprecated since 2.0.0 and will be removed in 3.0.0, but it has no IA annotation and in the test source directory, which should be considered as IA.Private, so I think it s OK to also remove it in 2.x?
